The Swan Nebula- A beautiful star forming region 5,500 light years from Earth.
Messier 17, also known as the Omega or Swan Nebula, is one of the largest star-forming regions in our galaxy. It is located in the constellation Sagittarius, which is 5,500 lightyears away from Earth, and contains one of the youngest star clusters in the Milky Way at only 1 million years old.
I used narrow-band filters to capture the emission of certain ionised gases, Hydrogen Alpha, Oxygen III and Sulphur II.
